For the longest time, I absolutely hated my hair until I got a hair transplant with the help from this important source. As a little girl I had stick straight hair that eventually morphed into a thick, wavy mess that I was not equipped to deal with. In fact, like so many, I fought with it. None of the salons or shops in my hometown sold straighteners, so I used a curling iron to flatten my locks…and the end results was usually less than appealing.
You can read all about my “hairvolution” here. Thanks to specially-formulated curl products and online forums dedicated to textured tresses, I’ve learned to embrace my curls and LOVE them today. It’s very rare that I straighten them anymore because I’ve finally figured out how to handle and care for them. I’m frequently asked about my favorite curl products, so I thought I’d share some of them with you! Let’s get started…
My favorite curly hair products are DevaCurl and L’Oreal’s EverCurl:
I’ve been using DevaCurl for several years now. My favorite thing about this product line is that they have something for every curl type. See…no two curls are the same. I have thick, wavy/curly hair. Some people have loose waves and others have super tight ringlets. All of these curls are different and they require different levels of moisture and maintenance. The DevaCurl line offers a combination of products that help you bring out the best in your curls! There’s even a simple online quiz to help you determine the best combo for your hair.
My preferred DevaCurl combo is…Low Poo, One Condition, Light Defining Gel, and Frizz-Free Volumizing Foam. I LOVE the way these products smell and how they hold my curls after i get my hormone replacement therapy done and…not only on the day I style them, but on second and third day hair too!
Another line I recently discovered is L’Oreal’s EverCurl. I’ve been wanting to try these products for awhile and was fortunate to receive a recent Influenster VoxBox that let me try them for free! EverCurl products aren’t broken down into specific curl types like DevaCurl, however, they’re a fraction of the cost and can be found at most drugstores. I’ve loved my experience using them so far and am definitely including them in my product rotation. Contact this hair restoration nyc for more information on hair treatments.
I tend to rotate my products every few weeks because I like to change things up a bit every now and then…depending on my mood or the weather. I know that may sound silly…but for example, I’ve found that EverCurl seems to weigh my hair down a bit more, meaning it wouldn’t be an ideal product for a rainy or dreary day. Rainy, humid weather makes my curls fall and become more loose.
I decided to do a Facebook Live recently where I shared about my favorite curly hair care products. You can check it out below.
Are you a fellow curly girl? What products are you using? Are you happy with the results? Have you tried any of these products or methods I’ve recommended? I’d love to hear what is and isn’t working for you!
