One of my 2016 goals is to eat more “whole” foods. You know, more fruits and veggies. Less sugar and carb-y things.
To up my intake on healthier choices, I’ve been making whole smoothies. My recent favorite is this delicious Pink Power Detox Smoothie I found over on OhSheGlows.com. Don’t let the pink fool you. This thing is full of raw goodness including a beet, half avocado, celery stalk, apple, strawberries, coconut oil, lemon juice, water, and ice.
Let me just say…I am NOT a beet or avocado fan, BUT I know they’re good for you, so I try to include them in dishes where I think other flavors will overpower them…which is definitely the case here. Very tasty!
Another tip for this smoothie – if you don’t have a high-speed blender like a Blendtec or Vitamix, you may need to briefly cook the beet to soften it up a bit. All in all, this smoothie gets a 10-star rating from me! Click here to see the recipe.
Do you have a favorite smoothie recipe? I’d love to know about it! Leave the link to your go-to smoothie or whole juice in the comments below so I can add to my pinboard.
